The anniversary takes place on both Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th July and marks the beginning of a thrilling Wicked Wonderland World Tour that will bedazzle countries from Europe to South America. Handpicked to head up the DJ Team and take on the world during the tour are Swedish house Mafioso Sebastian Ingrosso and homegrown heroes Fedde le Grand and Erick E, who are sure-fire hits with the Sensation crowd. What’s more, for the premiere Wicked Wonderland show in Amsterdam, they will also be joined by local rising star Sander van Doorn.
By mixing sensational DJs with breathtaking acrobatic dancers, decor and pyrotechnics, Sensation has evolved to become a spectacular event of international importance. Each year a new theme sets the mood for an audio-visual extravaganza that starts out in Amsterdam before moving on to other cities around the world. It’s a festival of sound, colour and light that is made even more impressive to the eye by the firmly established rule – that everyone must wear white. This rule has existed since the summer of 2000, when the very first edition, starring Tiësto, Sven Väth, and Carl Cox amongst others took place at Sensation’s spiritual home, Amsterdam Arena. Sensation has since been experienced by more than half a million clubbers worldwide and a wide range of DJs have performed at the events. From trance to the upfront electro of David Guetta, and from the minimal techno of Richie Hawtin to the pumping house of Erick Morillo.
Sensation’s current choice of contemporary club sound is reflected clearly by their new DJ Team. And with Ingrosso, Le Grand and Erick E at the helm there is a shift towards slick, sexy grooves with international allure, allowing for more intimacy on the dancefloor. Yes, Sensation keeps on innovating to deliver the best music and event production. So the upcoming Wicked Wonderland, a fantasy club adventure inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic, will raise the bar even higher, creating an immense journey that’s jam-packed full of enchanting surprises. A new addition to Wicked Wonderland that promises to be one of the highlights of the tour is the mystery act… ‘Curiouser and curiouser’, as Alice may say, these are guests whose identities will remain top secret until the actual event.
This year the Wicked Wonderland World tour de force will bring the show to such cities as Madrid, Copenhagen, Melbourne and Saint Petersburg, plus many more to be confirmed.
